started to work on my old bg800 and noticed that the hd-8 lenses on this unit have a spun aluminum housing for the lenses while my 1208 and all of the units I have saw on e-bay seem to have a plastic housing. Anyone know what the difference is?

I don't know but do you want to sell them ? I'd love a set of aluminum cased ones for my Barco. Let me know if you want to sell, or trade plus.
