I was wondering if anyone new if there is anyway to get hd audio out of a mac via analog cables? I have a lot of blu ray movies that I have ripped with with the hd audio, and I have been using xmbc to play them back on my 8 Core Mac Pro. I have the Radeon 5770 video card but unfortunately my ht processor, the Theta Casablanca III, does not have hdmi. So I have just been using the spdif to play the DD or DTS track. Unfortunately my income now a 5th of what it use to be so I will not be upgrading my Casablanca to hdmi anytime soon. I was able to get a Theta Six Shooter, 6 channel analog preamp, really cheap, so now I am trying to figure out how to get 6 channel analog out of my computer so that I can play the HD audio from my bluray rips.
I know that I would need to get some sort of pci card or usb dac with analog outs, then I would need to either use some software, looks like xmbc will be able to do that within the next six months, or hardware to do this. So any suggestions? What about the Dune HD MX?
Thanks,
Steve
