HD Overscan

Hey, my friend and i both have hdtv's, they are both different tv's and mine is newer but we both have the same problem when it comes to playing video games. Both of our tv's have overscan, where the screen cuts off about 2 inches from each corner of the tv so we lose a decent amount of the picture, how do we go about tryin to fix this problem? -Thanx
