Has anyone experienced a 'freezing' of the picture with the Zenith HD520 on DirecTV? I am seeing the picture 'freeze' (like I paused my Tivo, but on the HD520) on DirecTV channels, after 5-25 seconds on the channel. OTA channels seem unaffected, but it is happening on both HD and SD channels DirecTV channels. It began a week or so ago, so it may be related to the new software (1.04) which I apparently got the beginning of April.


Anyone seen anything like this? It is preventing me from watching HBO/HDnet, etc....


Ideas?

My SAT520 froze just one time on an SD DirecTV station. I don’t remember if this happened before or after the software update. Changing the channel made it unfreeze.

If I change the channel, then back to the channel that was 'frozen', it will unfreeze, but only briefly. Only happens on DirecTV inputs, no the OTA signals....


Wierd... And becoming annoying.

Yes, if you check out the 520 audio dropouts thread, I reported a similar issue when I was beta testing the software last month.

At this point it freezes every time I change to one of the DirecTV channels, regardless of the resolution of the station. HD or SD, doesn't much matter. The OTA channels are fine (so far, anyway).


I should probably be calling Zenith about this, right? Sigh....

Yep. Sounds like you've got one that needs some service.

Well, tried unplugging it again. Left it unplugged for a while this time. (first time I only left it unplugged for a couple of minutes) At this time, it appears that the problem has gone away.


Famous last words. If I don't post back here, it means the problem went away with a long power off.
