I have read through a number of posts but couldn't find the answer . . .

I have had a Sanyo PLV-Z2 (firmware 108) paired with a Samsung HD931 for about a year connected with a long set of wires.

From the Sammy out the wires are 5m to 3m to ex-tend-it booster to 5m to pj (42 feet total. The booster is hooked up correctly.

I have been watching 720p out of the Sammy (so i don't think this is an HDCP issue) but have always wanted the 1080i I paid for.

However, the 1080i setting only produces static with a momentary blue screen, then a still image (grainy and torn) then back to static. I thought this was a weak signal so I hooked up the player direct with the only the 3m cable with the same results.

2 questions:

1) is this just a cable length issue?

2) is this a HDCP compatibility issue?

anyone using this combination of hardware or suggest player that works with this length of wire?

Also, is the 1080i worth the trouble. I use a 92 in diag. screen

Just got the last Denon 1910 the store near me had for $190.

The 1080i mode works. Its not as visually stunning as I hoped but at least it works. I will never buy a samsung again.
