I don't think Valens have even got their true 18G VS3000 series out in the market yet. I would bet on 48G over single copper HDBT happening... never (or the tech equivalent)

Are there HDBase-T chipsets on the horizon or will other options, such as fiber, be needed for 48 gbps solutions that are equivalent to the Maestro?
Good question because 10Gig is the limit on CAT7, if so something special must happening via compression

10G symmetric but you don't need 10G in both directions, so there is some repurposing going on.
In any case though, all the HDBT solutions currently are operating apparently with only a 10G transport from HDBT with usually VESA DSC compression. However HDFury haven't disclosed their method for doing 18G over HDBT but I don't think it is bit perfect.

Valens VS3000 is the first chipset which will have native 18G HDMI support (it's actually only 16G of pixel data, as 18G HDMI has quite a lot of coding overhead). But as I say, not on market yet as far as I know.

Well, it took almost a year! But finally I have a LG C9, Epson 5050 UBe and Samsung Q6590R, all hooked up to a Tivo, Fire TV and ChromeCast...via HD Fury stuff...and happily mixing LLDV and HDR...at 422 12b

Here's the layout:

Family Room:
Fire TV, ChromeCast, TiVo -----> MAESTRO TX
MAESTRO TX0 --> LG C9 HDMI2 (EARC),
MAESTRO AUDIOOUT ---> PIONEER LX704 RECEIVER
MAESTRO TX1:HDBT ---> BASEMENT
PIONEER LX704 RECEIVER --> LG C9 (HDMI 1) ** for settings menu of receiver...**

LG C9 Happily Receives 4K59.933 422 12b HDR and LLDV from all sources.
Tip: When I first wired the C9 through the LX704, I could only get 420 on the C9 no matter what settings I tried.

Basement:
MAESTRO RX ----> Sony STR DN-1080
Sony STR-DN-1080 --> 30ft RUIPro Fiber HDMI to Porch.

Tip: Originally, I used an ATech HDBaseT, supposedly 18Mbps sender via Cat 7. It worked but (a) Resolution was limited to 300Mhz or less.
Tip: The RX is set to: "Use custom HDR for TX0 and TX1 when input is LLDV (for ATV only)"

Porch:
Fiber HDMI from Basement to VERTEX 2.
Vertex 2 TX0 ---> Samsung Q6590R
Vertex 2 TX1 ---> Epson 5050Ube

Samsung and Epson both happily receive 4K59.933 422 ....12b HDR (LLDV is converted to HDR by the MAESTRO RX in the basement).

I struggled with so many problems getting this to work...the main tricks were using a good quality fiber HDMI cable (30ft) and bypassing the Pioneer Receiver.

Hope it helps others!

Got a question for you guys. In the CEC packets, does it contain a value for the current volume?
When we bypass our receivers, we lose the onscreen overlay of the receiver. Most TV's will overlay a Volume Up and Volume Down graphic -- but not the value.
Since you have built the OSD capability, if that data were available, would be an awesome feature to place an OSD of volume level whenever CEC volume command is received.

Cheers.

Thanx for the suggestion, well noted.

I have been getting signal drops when using the RX unit since I bought the Maestro devices many months ago. Sometimes things will be fine for a few days but then it will constantly drop the signal every minute or two. No issues with the TX-Central Unit.

I have tried using many Ethernet cables of various lengths and categories (CAT6A & 7) and HDMI cables of various lengths and brands (Monoprice premium certified, Zeskit, Ruipro fiber optic, and HDFury brand). I have a Sony Android TV connected to the RX unit and have tried taking it out of the chain but that doesn't help.

Is it possible that I have a faulty RX unit or maybe I need a specific configuration?

I am going to turn off the hdmi video passthrough feature on my Marantz AV8802A. This feature allows video (no sound) to be shown with the inputs on the TX-Central unit without the Marantz being powered on. Maybe this has something to do with the constant signal dropping on the RX unit.

So far, working great with the Marantz Hdmi passthrough feature disabled. I will report back in a few days.

I haven't had any signal drops from the RX unit ever since turning off the HDMI Video Passthrough feature on my Marantz preamp. It was a major annoyance after going through many different cables but in the end, it was all user error.

There is small thing that has been bugging me. On the OLED display on the RX unit would sometimes turn on by itself and doesn't turn off/fade until I go into the configuration, select OLED Display On, and then select Off.

I will send this to dev. Can you please post the config file for the rx and tx units here.

Hi,

I am trying to get the projector game and I think the maestro is what I need but just to be sure, I'll describe my use case,

As of today, in the living room, I have:
  • Apple TV connected to the TV
  • Sonos ARC connected to the TV via arc

i would like to switch to the following case:
  • Apple TV connected to the Maestro (or good alternatives)
  • Maestro sending the feed via hdmi to the TV
  • Maestro sending the feed to the projector (via a router on the way and CAT 6 cables)
  • Maestro sending the sound to the Sonos ARC via optical (no atmos then).

Does that sound correct? Would the router create any issue or should I have a direct cat 7 cable between the RX and TX?
Is there any way I can extract the atmos on the way? I don't want Atmos bad enough to buy an arcana but if there is a new Maestro with earc output coming this year, I could wait a few months.

I think that's it. If I forgot, just let me know, I'll fix.

Thanks in advance.

Please post the length of the hdmi cables you will need.
But you cannot use cat6 from a router. The cat6 cables need to be direct from the maestro rx unti to the tx unit.
No you cannot get atmos without the arcana.

But we may have other cheaper options depending on your setup.
Will the tv and projector be in the same room?

I ordered the Arcana which I should get in a few days.

I will get a HDMI splitter and run a hdmi cable from the Apple TV to the projector as I have discovered an empty electric sheath (not sure of the word) that goes from behind my Apple TV to the wall where the projector will be (in the same room).
From plug to projector, there is approximately 7,5 meters, plus 2,5m of room height.
From projector to center of the screen, I'd guess about 6m.

Is the Maestro-TX compatible with other HDBaseT receivers, or must it be used/paired with the Maestro-RX only?

HD Fury, I need a little help with my setup. I'm having sporatic HDMI handshake issues and something is preventing me from getting full dolby HD signals from my apple TV and sometimes my blu-ray player. I've played with some settings and got the bitstream to be passed through the maestro, but I can only get dolby digital signals from my appleTV. If I don't convert to dolby digital in the appleTV, I only get 2 channel LPCM.

Here's by setup at the moment

Panasonic 820 -> Maestro TX (HDMI 0) Audio Out -> Classe CT-SSP pre/pro
Apple 4K -> Maestro TX (HDMI 1) HDbaseT -> Maestro RX -> JVC RS3000

Here's the config info for the TX

HD Fury, I need a little help with my setup. I'm having sporatic HDMI handshake issues and something is preventing me from getting full dolby HD signals from my apple TV and sometimes my blu-ray player. I've played with some settings and got the bitstream to be passed through the maestro, but I can only get dolby digital signals from my appleTV. If I don't convert to dolby digital in the appleTV, I only get 2 channel LPCM.

I would firstly disable power save on the maestro rx.
I would also pick an edid to use instead of automix to deal with the audio issue.
Any edid with the full sound in the file name will be a good choice.

test this.
Any issues upload the txt file from the maestro and attach. As posting the contents makes it hard to follow.

Have any of you guys had been successful in using the TX as a switch and extracting HDMI audio from an appleTV 4K for delivery to a older 1.4 processor/receiver? I can get uncompressed audio from my blu-ray players, but something is causing the appleTV to give me either 2 channel LPCM, dolby digital multi-channel, or no audio at all. HDFury on Discord wasn't any help after a lengthy session today. They were trying to get me to settle for dolby digital, telling me my classe CT-SSP can't handle 7.1 audio (which it will with 4k bluray. They told me to search google for an EDID. I though the HD Fury products could manage this so I could get the better audio out of the appleTV 4K. I'm getting 4K HDR 444 video to my RS3000 from all sources. Any thoughts/help would be greatly appreciated?

Post a link to the exact Classe unit you have so we can review specs.
As well as a new config file while sending multichannel lpcm so we can review.

I also want you to try using the spdif output to the classe when the hdmi audio out has no audio.
This will see if the classes sees any audio from the spdif output.
Please test this and report back.
