Need to record from an HDMI source(HDCP free). Any of you guys dealt with that? Looking at the elgato PC options since they seem to be popular for streaming gaming; anything else that will do 1080i? Do they record PCM only or they can capture bitstream DD as well?

Pretty much all will do 1080i, it's only if you want 1080p60 or 4k30 or 4k60 that things get more complex.
And they only capture in stereo PCM, I don't know of any that will do encoded formats still on the market (there were a few in the past that do Dolby digital)
