HDMI connection to plasma, is audio produced out of the panel's stereo speakers?

Connecting the HDMI to planned GEN 9 pioneer panel which has 2 channel audio amp for stereo speakers . Will the HDMI audio signal be able to be played back through the panel's audio circuits or will analogue audio cables still be needed to connect to the matching HDMI inputs for the video sources, Dishnetwork, blue ray, all with HDMI outputs plus 2 channel analogue outputs?
