HDMI crossover and switching?

Hi, Im new to the home theater audio world. I recently bought a 42" panny plasma 85u model. I currently have it hooked up with a Denon avr 589 (HDMI switching), and ps3. I noticed that i needed another audio cable in order to hear sounds from my receiver, so i use a fiber opitcs cable form ps3 to receiver and hdmi to tv.


What is the difference from HDMI switching and crossover? What receiver I need to get to use only the HDMI cable for picture and sound?
