HDMI-DMI-Digital Audio questions

615 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  Tiga
So I'd like to connect my DISH Network HD811 receiver to the HDMI input on my Philips 7320 TV. The satellite receiver has a DVI output. I have a dvi-hdmi cable from Radio Shack but I'm confused with the audio connection. The TV has a digital audio-in connection that is supposed to be used when going dvi-hdmi but I believe it's an RCA plug connection, where the satellite receiver has an optical output. Any way to make this work (like an optical-RCA converter or something) or am I out of luck and stuck with component cables and the RCA left/rigtht. Thank you for your help.

Partsexpress.com has digital converters for under $20. I have the opposite problem with my PC, coaxial digital out and my receiver has optical only. I've also seen the converters locally at Fry's. Go to partsexpress.com and search the P/N 180-961. The reverse converter is 180-964
Great!

Thanks for the help!
