I realize that HDMI allows for longer cable runs than straight DVI.
So I was wondering: if I have an HDMI source (DVD player, cable box, etc.) running into my DVI display using an HDMI -> DVI converter cable, can I still take advantage of the greater cable length afforded by the HDMI output, or because I am terminating with DVI, will I still have to conform to the shorter cable length DVI requirements?
BTW, I'm thinking about a 20-25 ft run. What is the different maximum run lengths for HDMI vs. DVI? Would DVI make it 25 ft?
Thanks!
