HDMI / DVI Matrix switcher??

445 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  arosenbaum
Does anyone know of an HDMI/DVI matrix switcher with 4-5 inputs and at least 5 outputs. Trying to setup a distributed a/v system. Oddly enough, I think I can put the core system in a central location in a 2 story house such that all TV's that I care about are within 30 feet or so (which I understand to be the max distance of a high-end HDMI cable).

Thanks!

You will be waiting for several months.

Note: When this device becomes available

ALL SOURCES AND DISPLAYS MUST BE SET TO SAME RESOLUTION.

BTW: Better HDMI cables are good for about 50'.
Autopatch Optima series has a 4X4 DVI card. The chassis will support 6 cards and the backplane can handle the bandwidth. Does that mean you can get a 24X24 DVI switcher from Autopatch? I don't know...

Gefen has a 4X4 stand-alone.

I haven't found anything else on the market.

I disagree with Brent. If the displays can autosync to resolution, why does it matter if the sources output the same res?

OTOH, if the source is outputting HDCP, only the first display to switch to that source will be able to display it, all the others will fail.....
