Have HDMI running to our LCD and has been working great for a while. Wife dusted off the top of the computer with a cloth and HDMI no longer works. It's a laptop and the attached screen works but no output on the HDMI. Could static electricity have zapped and damaged just that side of the video card? Her rag could of easily come in contact or close proximity to the connection.

Tried hooking it up to our other sets and cables that worked before and nothing. Tried disabling, enabling, uninstalling, installing, restarting and rebooting in any sequence possible. Tried bios, tech support, updates, rollbacks, backups, etc, etc, yada, yada, yada...

Computer doesn't detect any external devices but the TVs recognize that something has been connected. Will a local service tech or geek squad be able to test if there is a proper HDMI signal?

I'd power it down then open it up and vacuum out any dust inside that I could, and/or hit it with compressed air to blow it clean.
