Hello everyone, nice to be here.

I am having a problem with the HDMI socket on my Hannspree 37" YTO8 TV.

I have been connecting my pc to the HDMI without problem for the last couple of years now it suddenly comes up with "No signal".
Nothing in the pc has changed and I have tried a laptop also without success.
I have checked all the settings on both the pc and laptop and changed cables.
Both computers fail to detect the TV as a monitor.
If I plug my BT Vision box or my DVD into the same socket it works OK.

What other steps can I take to troubleshoot?
Is it possible that the HDMI socket on the tv is faulty to the extent that it will not accept a signal from a computer but will from a BT Vision box or a DVD Player? If so what is the solution?

Thanks for any help,
Mike

First thought is a driver update to your computer that inadvertently disabled HDMI. Did you try the computers on other HDMI-equipped televisions?

Might also help to know make/model and OS of the computers.

Hi DrDon

The pc's are a home made i7 with a Radeon HD 4800 and the laptop is a Novatech i5 with Intel HD 4600 graphics, the pc is on WIn 7 x 64 the laptop Win 8.1.
I work in IT so the first things I did was roll back drivers just in case, then updated them then rolled them back again. I then tried every possible combination of screen resolution on each graphic card to no avail.
I also changed out cables. Just to point out the picture from pc to TV has been working fine for about 3 years with no problem whatsoever.

I also use a HDMI box as my tv only has one HDMI socket. If a signal is received at the box a blue light comes on. If I connect the pc or laptop a blue light comes on just nothing showing on the tv.
Of course I have taken the box out of the equation and connected directly between either computer and the tv.

It seems to me (but I'm no expert) that the socket on the tv itself is the problem, howdon't know:)
Any ideas mate?
Thanks
Mike

Try the computers on another TV.
