HDMI question???/ Bose3-2-1 series II GS

I got a Bose 3-2-1 gs home theater for x-mas. I am purchasing a Toshiba 50HPx95 Plasma TV this week. I was wondering if I hook up HDTV via dish network would I be able to get the best sound quality for this by running a HDMI cable to my TV and then a optical audio cable to my bose system. The Bose system does not have an HDMI connection. Does this sound logical?? Any suggestions????? Thanks Stucatt :)

Sounds about right to me - assuming you've checked the back of that bose unit and it has the optical-in jack. Just ignore the fact that HDMI can carry audio, the dish receiver should output its audio signal to all of its output jacks at the same time (obviously no digital audio -> analogs though) - HDMI for video, toslink audio, good to go.
So by running optical out of tosh tv to bose 3-2-1 I should still maintain digital audio quality (dolby 5.1). Or should I run directly from cable box optical to bose for best quality???
Please see my reply??????
I would run it from the cable box to the bose - my toshiba hdtv with HDMI doesn't have a digital audio output, so I didn't realize that was an option. Either will probably work, feel free to try both - its only 5 seconds of work to move the cable and you can't damage anything (well - don't force it into the wrong place or something dumb - if you try to you can break it)
