Ok AV world, I need your help please!

I am not getting sound for TV cable channels. Sound only works on PS3.

I have the following:


1. Denon AVR Receiver 1911 (4 hdmi ports and 1 hdmi monitor out)

2. Cable Coax (no cable box)

3. PS3

4. Vizio LCD (4 hdmi ports)


- The coax cable from wall is plugged into the TV (DTV).

- I have HDMI from TV going into Receiver "Monitor Out" HDMI

- I have HDMI from PS3 going into Receiver


*Note* I do not have a cable box... I canceled Cox cable, but still get cable channels w/out Cable Box. (sound for cable channels will work without receiver, but surround sound is better if I can hook it up)


Please help

never gonna get sound from the avr that way, as it has no way of getting it...


assuming the vizio has audio out ports, you need to connect the audio out from the display back to the avr....

The TV may not output surround sound from it's digital audio connection, only stereo. You'd have to check the TV's manual.
