Basic problem: Xbox will only display "optimal resolution" which is 1280*1024 widescreen (How is that widescreen??) or 480p, where as all the HDTV resolutions used to be open.

This all started after hooked up a VGA cable yesterday and play on a 23 Samsung LCD for awhile.

The main summer set up is a 32" 720p LCD hooked DVI on the screen and HDMI on the reciver. Its been working great up untill I unhooked the hdmi (system powered off) and pluged in a VGA adapter.

I have the 360 running HDMI to yamaha reciver and then out.

Currently its hooked up my Benq 720p Projector and I can select any HDTV setting I want.

My PS3 last checked had no problems playing Blu-Ray or selecting standard resolutions on the same screen running into the reciver on the same HDMI port.

Anyone have any ideas? Should I just be happy with 1280*1024 (seems to look great in Halo anyways, seems sharper then I remeber 720p
