I have noticed that this subject has not been touched upon for quite some time.
Is there a definative answer now to what setting should be used now? some people were saying one thing, someone else another.
I have a Samsung le32a457, native is 720p and thats what i set it at. Have used some test patterns and tried different settings but the blacks under 16 always seem to be crushed, with other settings 0-16 look gray, the whites are fine. I also read about putting the tv in home theatre pc mode on HDMI 1, but i cannot find this setting on my TV. On HMDI 2 (says on the back of the tv dvi in) i can set it to optimum resolution (pc mode i think)
I have read a lot about reference levels etc and it all seems rather confusing with lots of different opinions on what the est settings are.
Any help would be much appreciated.
