I assume you mean for DirecTV or Dish? DirecTV's HDTV Tivo offers HDMI.

For cable, you currently have no choice but to use your cable company's box, as there are no CableCard solutions yet widely available.

Keep in mind that DVI and HDMI signals are compatible. HDMI is just DVI + audio in the same cable. You can buy a HDMI -> DVI cable for about $30.

The only DIRECTV STB with HDMI is the HR10-250, which is the HD DVR.

As bfdtv said, DVI and HDMI are almost the same video protocol, other than the DD audio sub-carrier that travels with the HDMI output.

DIRECTV's current HD STB with DVI is the RCA DTC-210.

Thanks guys. I just bought a Sony kv32hs420 for the bedroom, where I have an OLD DTC-100, with RGB out for HD. Being that the Sony only accepts COMPONENT or HDMI, I was thinking about upgrading my STB. However, I decided to buy a RGB-COMPONENT cable instead, after assurances from Sony that ONLY a cable was necessary, as oppossed to a Transcoder box. HOPEFULLY....they are familiar enuf with THEIR OWN product to have provided me with correct info.

BTW, I DO have an LG-3200 STB with DVI out hooked up to my Hitachi (HDMI input) via an adapter cable and eveything works FINE....
