I'm running a 15' 28awg from my receiver to my IN82 and I'm seeing a lot of video noise when passing 1080p from my ps3. I don't have the option of replacing the hdmi cable since it's built into the ceiling
.

I just tried adding an equalizer/repeater from monoprice and contrary to it's purpose made the problem worse. Is there anything else I can do to boost the hdmi signal strength without replacing the cable?

I should note that my xbox360 syncs immediately with the projector at 1080p and shows no signs of a weak signal. The problem only exists with the ps3.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks

not the first person to say this in regards to the PS3 not passing 1080p so well. The fact that other devices are doing it without issue leads me to believe that you should return the unit for a new one. Someone else here on the forum said they returned theirs and the new one worked without issue.

By any chance do you have the 40gb model?

It is indeed the 40gb version. Returning it is out of the question since I purchased the unit over a year ago. I'll try hooking up my neighbor's ps3 t see if the issue persists. Thanks for the reply.

Is that 30' directly from your ps3 to your projector or are you using a receiver as a junction? I was able to feed a 24awg cable through my ceiling to replace the 28awg and the issue continues to persist. I'm still trying to get my hands on another ps3 which I now believe is the culprit.

I have a 6 foot HDMI cable from Monoprice that goes from the back of the ps3 to an in wall HDMI plate. Then in the back of that plate, the cable goes all the way up to the ceiling and out of a hole and directly into the project.

Sounds like your ps3 may be flaky, i'd certianly try another if you can. what if you change it to 720p only do you still get the same stuff happening?

I have a IN83 and have a 30' run of HDMI and had some dropout. I did not want to mess with HDMI amplification devices as they tend to hurt more than help. I ordered a Honeywell HDMI restorer. It goes at the projector end and brings all loss data and clock speed back to spec. Works like a champ. Its just like your source is 1m away. You run your long run of HDMI to one end and a 1m HDMI cable of your choice from restorer to projector. Highly recommended!
