Has anyone gone backwards from HDMI to componet video VGA?

Or does anyone know of any cable or adapter that is not that expensive

They are available to work with unencrypted HDMI (non HDCP) such as from http://www.hdtvsupply.com/hdtocoad.html but they are expensive. Because of copyright paranoia by the entertainment industry they won't work with HDCP encoded signals.
