I have not been here for a while so I'm pretty much out of the loop.

A few years ago I just gave up on digital audio over HDMI form my HTPC. Analog works well enough.

In 2011 can I do this:

HDMI audio bit steamed out to my Receiver reliably?

also, can I use an HDMI matrix to send the audio and video to my TV?

When I tried that before, the PC would switch to stereo, then I'd have to dig into the settings to make it surround again.

Then at some point HDMI audio just stopped working. I was using an Asus HDMI audio card. I assumed it was defective and sent it back to Amazon.

My biggest problem with the analog audio is that I am not able to take advantage of the Audyssey processing which makes a significant difference.

I'm using Vista Media Center, My Movies, and Archsoft Blueray software.

Thanks,

~Jay

Any thoughts at all? Is it still as difficult as it was 2 years ago?
