I just bought a Samsung 50" Plasma (PN50B650) for my new apt. Made a deal with my fiance, I get the bigger TV but she requires a minimum of cables.

I am looking for a receiver that can connect video and audio for my devices via a single HDMI cable to the TV. I will be connecting DirecTV HD, X360, Wii, and a Blu-ray player.

Can you recommend a receiver that won't break the bank?

Thanks!

There are a lot of receivers that can convert analog to HDMI. If you want TV audio, look for one with HDMI passthrough in standbye mode. That's a newer feature.

Denon AVR-1610?

Yamaha RX-V565?

Onkyo TX-SR607?

Any recommendations? Anything cheaper than these that would still have 3+ HDMI inputs and HDMI switching?

How cheap does it need to get, what's your price range?

I don't want to spend more than $500 and I do want a receiver that will work without a bunch of setup headaches (hence my fear of the AVR 254).
