With these new HDMI graphics cards coming out, what provides the better resolution? HDMI or DVI?

The same, there's no difference besides the plug. At least for current graphics cards (there are some with lame audio support). HDMI 1.3 will allow for >32bit color, but it's unknown if anything will take advantage of that.

To the best of my knowledge there are no HDMI 1.3 devices available yet.
as stanger said there only thing that will increase resolution is the power of the gpu, and if they are dual link and really that is for higher resolution not "better"

What depends on quality is if the drivers are good, the latest nvidia drivers suck, and I mean suck. I am running 78.x and 86.x drivers, the latest 9x.xx drivers suck back, lost of issues with them.
