That's a great list of movies! (Too bad DirecTV doesn't carry that channel yet, though...)

BTW, what does the asterisk stand for after some of the movies?

Thanks Mark!

Way to to go Mark!

We keep asking Directv for your channel to go 24 hours and to add the movie channel. They never listen.

I can't wait to see in the line of fire in HD!

Very cool! But you got ripped off on a couple of the films:

RICHARD PRYOR HERE AND NOW

RICHARD PRYOR LIVE ON THE SUNSET STRIP

Funny? Absolutely! But these two features were shot in SD video and upconverted to 35mm.

But the rest of the list has some great films that will be wonderful to see in HD:

LAWRENCE OF ARABIA (RESTORED VERSION)

GROUNDHOG DAY

ROXANNE

GANDHI

BIRDY

Sweet! Hopefully I'll be able to get this channel at some point.

Mark, That is a great list. Movies and Sports are the killer aps for HD and HD Net Movies are a must have for any provider. I know some of the folks at Comcast HQ (1500 Market St in Philly) and will rattle their cage regarding carriage of your network.

Great job Mark, this should definitely put more pressure on DirecTV, Echostar, and cable to add this channel....

Brilliant work, I can't WAIT to see Close Encounters and Lawrence of Arabia!!!! Those two movies alone will make every penny spent on HiDef equipment worth it.

Look out DirecTV, it's time for the ol' automailer to fire off messages daily :)

Thanks Mark!

The kneejerkers who are griping about "the 50 people who get this channel", might want to read Mr. Cuban's comments again. Let the word PRIMARILY sink in:

Primarily != exclusive, solitary, only to be shown on one channel.

/flamebait

Odds are some would be used as content on HDNet, and used with a little cross promotion to drive the consumer push to get HDNet Movies delivered to them.

Look at me, I'm actually giddy thinking about Lawrence of Arabia in HD...giddy I tell you!

All right all of you Directtv people. Time to get off our butts and send those e-mails to Directtv and let them know we want our HDNet Movies! We know that Mark is a fair guy and their is no reason why DTV cannot carry that channel (unlike a certain sport channel that seems to want to charge an arm and a leg for everything). Mark has championed our cause and it is time to show him our appreciation.

I never watch NBA games, but if I lived in Dallas I'd buy season tickets to the Mavs just to thank Mark for all he has done and continues to do for us.

I just wish there were some ways for him to get information out to the general public about sports events he carries in HD. Too bad the major newspapers won't add his listings to their sports events on TV columns.

I have phoned and emailed DirecTV about adding HDNet movies.

And I will continue, at least once a week.

Thanks again, Mark

I subscribe to HDNet movies and enjoy it very much. Of course I love the full time HD programming but I have also been surprised by the variety and quality of the movies. My favorites have been a Clockwork Orange and Ocean's Eleven. The Clockwork transfer was superb. Ocean's Eleven, being older, was granier with more muted colors but still looked good and was in OAR and fun to watch. They have also had some good indie films that you wouldn't likely see anywhere else. With the SONY deal, the future should be even better.

By the way, I know that availability of the channel is limited but I am surprised that I haven't seen indication of any other forum members who subscribe. Am I the only one? Anyone else subscribing?
