This is absolutely my favorite film of all time.
However, the version HDNet Movies has to show has a few issues with background music that must have come directly in the master from Warner Brothers and must have been errors made when producing a stereo/surround master from the original film's mono soundtrack.
Namely, there are at least three important scenes in which the background music fades away and can either not be heard at all or just barely. Someone seeing the film for the first or even fifth time might not notice, but I'm at viewing #110 or so.
1) When Mac and Danny are driving along and hit the rabbit.
2) When Danny tells Marina about the plans for the oil terminal (on the beach outside the ceilidh.) You can hear the background music for a bit and then its as if someone turned the volume down to zero - their speech and the sound effects are the proper level.
3) When Mac tells Gordon he wants his life and that he'd "make a good Gordon, Gordon."
The background music is essential for these scenes, especially #2 above, where it makes the scene that much more poignant.
I don't think it's an error at DISH or at HDNet Movies, so that leaves Warner Brothers; there are also noticeable audio "pops" at edits in a few places that aren't present on the DVD, LaserDisc or VHS (or old HBO showings.)
The film was a budget film so doesn't really have HD "pop" though it does look quite noticeably better than the DVD, and the soundtrack is much, much better than the mono DVD, which sounds muffled by comparison.
I just thank HDNet Movies for the opportunity to see it at all this way, as I suspect the odds of it ever making it to Blu-ray are near zero.

Just finished watching The Enforcer on HDNet Movies. I hadn't intended to, but I was surfing by and saw it had just started (well, right before Callahan meets Tyne Daly's character officially as his partner) and I just had to stop. The print looked absolutely pristine, with colors that popped. Fantastic presentation. Of course many aspects of the movie seem dated now, but I still enjoyed watching it. Good stuff.

I like to pretend 9 never happened

I am a huge Friday fan and I hate 9 with a passion. Turning Jason into a stupid parasite was beyond absurd, even for a Friday movie
I got to see 6 and 7 on HDNET (though I was flipping back and forth to the Colts/Bolts game). PQ was good enough. I wasn't expecting much since Paramount treats these movies like a Red Headed Stepchild. Sad I missed 4, as it is by far the best in the Franchise, and everytime I watch I get to hope that maybe this time, Corey Feldman will get a machette through the eye ... so far it has never happened though

Seeing the trailers for the remake has stoked some interest for me again. I was against it at first, but it doesn't look too bad. Just hoping it is better than the last few movies. A big positive is they didn't cast Kane Hodder who completely destroyed the character, though I have to admit Jason X is a guilty pleasure of mine, and it has the best kill in the series (the girl who's face in pushed in liqiud nitrogen, and then slammed off the table)
