Does anybody have enough experience about HDNet Movies to know if they are generally OAR?

I have not seen it, but yes, all of the movies are HD and OAR. Unlike Showtime who does mostly OAR, but not all are HD.

HBO seems to be mostly HD, however they lack OAR on many.

Yup. OAR.

And some incredibly gorgeous transfers of some of my favorite older movies like "The World According to Garp" and "A Clockwork Orange."

Yes, their slogan which they repeat in most of their promos is "Movies the way they were meant to be seen." They mean it. Shown uninterrupted in OAR and without editing for TV!

Oh man, I'd love to get Garp recorded on D-VHS. It's such a great, wierd, touching flick and the DVD isn't terribly good.
