I have IO digital cable with a Scientific Atlanta HD box. It has HDMI out and component out. Any way to forcefeed this into my pc monitor with a combination of cables or do I need to buy a converter for an arm and a leg? What do I need? My monitor is an Intergraph 27" 16:9. Thanks in advance :)

If your monitor has DVI, and the cable box doesn't enforce HDCP, then there's a slim chance you can connect HDMI-to-DVI. But I think HDMI (unlike DVI) always has HDCP on. Otherwise, it's the arm and leg. Sorry.

It's a pet peeve of mine, too. Computer monitors are much cheaper than comparable HDTV displays; one has to pay an absurd premium for component and/or HDMI inputs. It's a scam, I tell ya.

gk101, you have already posted this in a separate thread. You will find better responses if you keep everything in one thread.
