Hi everyone-

I just bought the Mits 48313 and want to watch the Super Bowl in HD but my local cable company does not offer CBS in HD. I'm not even sure that my local CBS broadcaster offers a digital signal. I have tried to find out on my own, but I haven't had any luck, so I joined this wonderful forum :)

I live in Champaign, IL and if anyone can offer a suggestion on what type of antenna and receiver I could purchase to get the Super Bowl in HD, I would be very greatful. Thank you.

Easiest would be time machine, go forward a few years.

Second would be a good antena like the "8 bowtie"

on a good tower, looks like 1600 or 1700 feet will do

to get you CBS in Terre Haute, who do CBS in HD.

Alternately if you don't want a 1700 foot tower,

would be an ExpressVu satellite subscription with

a fake Canadian address.

In other words, WCIA REALLY REALLY doesn't want to let you

see the Super Bowl in HD.

Call them and complain bitterly ... be obnoxious. Being nice won't help.

The good news is that WICD (NBC), and WILL (PBS), are ready to go HD at any day now, and WAND (ABC), has been for awhile now. A good decent antenna should allow you to get these stations without too much trouble.

Also WRSP already has the HD equipment ready, we just have

to wait for Fox to send the HD signal to them.

This will leave only CBS and WB. UPN has cancelled the

shows they have done in HD.
