OK I've looked for an anwer to this

how do you send your output from your HD set top box

to a second monitor which is my 17" LCD computer monitor with a VGA input?

Is this possible?

the distance between the 2 might be 50'

I just want to be able to see the same channel that is being broadcast

in my home theater simultaneously and it doesnt necessarily

have to be HDTV but that would be nice

I was thinking about a stand alone lcd monitor without a pc in the kitchenand I dont really want to buy another stb

what cables would work for this rg6? long vga?

I already have a component video amp

thanks

I once used a LCD Monitor as a TV and it worked ok, but don't fast forward any content and you will be fine, the LCD could not keep up with the signals being sent it when I fast forward a VHS tape, other then that, it worked fine.

Also, most LCDs can only do 1280x1024 resolution. Anything higher than that (e.g. HDTV) may display, but will alias. Depending on the unit, the aliasing can look pretty bad.

I have a Samsung LCD/TV/monitor model ltm-1555 and since it is a 15" model it only has 1024x768 resolution but the picture is simply awesome when fed an HDTV signal.
