I bought my Mits TV way back in '96 knowing that HD was coming out the next year. I couldn't wait for the new models to arrive and decided to purchase it anyway. Now years later I have been spending most of my time tweaking my Sony CRT Home Theater and ignored the 50" Mits. Recently I was able to upgrade the circuit board on my Sony virtually taking it to the next model number and adding HDTV support.

Is there a similar procedure that can be done on a Mits VS5078 to enable it to receive a progressive scan input? Can a circuit board be replaced with a newer models part? The CRTs are always ready for the added resolution, just the circuitry needs enhancements.

Thanks
