I have rogers basic cable, without a BOX !

Just bought a Philips 47pfl5704d - 47" Lcd 1080p Hdtv with inbuilt ATSC /QAM tuner (and also NTSC I suppose) , also, have a ONKYO SR608 reviever on its way.

My goal is to use ONKYO as input switcher of choice i.e. to have PC,TV etc. go thru onkyo's HDMI. Would like your advice on :

If is it worth it to buy a PrimeDTV PHD-05 tuner (or a DVD Recorder with HDMI and Tuner). To help me go through HDMI on onkyo and at the same time will this give me better picture ? (as it will have HDMI and I am using COAX right now)

OR Just use inbuilt Philips Tuner, forget the HDMI, use Optical Out from the TV to Onkyo for audio as required.

So basically looking for anything better in terms of picture and sound to justify the cost of buying an additional box to go through ONKYO.

thanks.
