Ok. here's are the questions that might have been asked in here so many times already. I don't come in here that often so I'll post it a gain.


If I bought HDTV set. Do I need to buy a digital converter box even though I will use it for HDTV viewing and connect to my DVD player only.


If I bought Dish network 6000 Receiver (I'm already a dishnetwork subscriber) Do I still need a digital converter box in order for me to receive my local HDTV signal off the air. CBS is currently broadcast that signal in my area.

With a Dish 6000 you would be able to receive the satellite HDTV channels. For local over the air HDTV you will need the 8VSB module which connects to the Dish 6000 for around another $150. If you only want to watch DVDs you don't need a HD set top box; That said once you view HDTV you will probably want one and the Dish 6000 is a great value.
