1. You can combine OTA and SAT signals through use of a diplexer. Some oval dishes have buit-in multiswitches that allow for an OTA signal to be integrated. You still may need a diplexer at the other end to separate the signals. $20 for an upgrade to a 3-LNB oval dish is a steal.
2. Go to antennaweb.org. Remember the recommendation there is the minimum recommendation. It's usually prudent, depending on terrain to get slightly more antenna than is recommended.
3. Correct. Any of the DirecTV HD STBs will also receive and display OTA HD signals.

5. Depends on the box. Some have the Advanced Program Guide, which will show program information for all DirecTV channels and both digital and analog local channels, whether DirecTV provides local (SD) channels to your market or not.
