If HDTV is so much better than current analog or even digital NTSC standard is it likely that same brodcast standard is likely to come to commercial home video cameras? Is the CCD of these HDTV cameras very difeerent from the present cameras?

It already has. The first HD camcorder is currently available...the JVC JY-HD10U (or its consumer counterpart, the GR-HD1). Records at 720p on standard MiniDV tapes. List price is $3500. Look for many more to be popping up in the near future.

Also, 4 camcorder manufacturers have agreed to a standard that includes 1440i. See this .
