We're namesakes, so I feel like it's only appropriate for me to be the one who answers your question. Well, actually the full answer is really too long and complex to get into here, but I'll point you to the best place for finding it:

This is actually an article about DVD players and progressive scan, but it's the best explanation of 3:2 pulldown that I've seen to date. Take the time to read and absorb it. By the way, I don't think your Tosh does it.

DVI is a digital video output, for a higher, so-called "perfect reproduction" of video signal. Now, I'm not 100% on this, but I believe that only DLP set-ups can benefit from this, where the signal remains in the digital domain until display. Check out Jim Taylor's FAQ for more answers:

What is reverse 3:2 pull down?

- I don't know. I bought my TOSHIBA 40W80, it looks very nice.
