Hi I just purchased a samsung set top box HDTV reciever and can not get any signal. I do live in a low signal area and in a apartment. So I can not get a large directional antenna. Does anyone know the best indoor antenna that ay work?

No one can prevent you from having a huge antenna inside your own apartment (unless it's big enough to get the fire marshal involved) 
Generally the best indoor antenna for UHF reception is the Silver Sensor, available at Sears and BestBuy. At that distance, you might have to point it through a window in the direction of the towers, though. (I did not check your location to see if your HDTV stations are UHF) That antenna is highly directional, so you may have to move it around the room, and/or play with tilt to find any reception.
