I have just started the planning of a hush box for my Seleco HT200. It is a relatively quiet PJ, but I would like to have complete silence (or as close to it I can get).

Now, in order for the HT200 not to run to hot, I need to change the air in the hushbox. But how often?

Is there a formula that states (given the wattage rating of the lamp and the internal volume of the hushbox) how often the air in the box has to be changed?

There was a discussion in this forum about hushboxes and

how much airflow was needed some time back - including a

formula for how to calculate it.

For starters, I remember the value for the JVC G15 which

has a 400+ W bulb and dissipates about 650 W. A G15 in a

hushbox requires about 20 cfm of air flow.

Since a Seleco dissipates less heat - you can ratio the

20 cfm figure down by the ratio of the Seleco heat

production to that of a G15.
