Help a Lady out!

Okay, so I have jumped on the HT treadmill. I thought that I would be nice and purchase my husband a plasma for his birthday. Of course he loved it so then I had to buy the surround sound speakers which were JVC satelites along with a JVC sub. Now he was thrilled, but I was dissatisfied with the sound so I purchased new speakers recently - Polk m40's for fronts, M40's for rears and a cs1 center but I kept the JVC sub. At this point my husband is like "what are you doing I was content with the other speakers". But now the upgraditis bug has hit me. This is where you guys come in. I WANT another sub. I am thinking about either the SVS-PB10 or the Velodyne DP12. My room is 14 x 12. So what do you think?? Keep in mind that the sub will be the last purchase so it will have to last even if I upgrade the speakers.

Help!!!

Sheesh!! Leave that party-pooper and marry me and you can upgrade as often as you like(Audio equipment, that is :D ) ;)

J/K!! I say give the SVS a shot :)
Budget $300 -$600

50% music 50% movies

Can't marry you. Love my husband and he provides for me in other ways :D
How much sound do you want out of this? You're looking at approx 1400 cu ft., and the SVS models to do a nice reference level may be a bit higher than that price.

Here is one SVS within the budget:

If you are ok with loud but with a bit less quality, you have more options. I believe many here like the dayton and mirage subs.

Dayton:

A PB12-NSD sneaks in just below your limit (minus shipping) and will last through quite a bit of "upgraditits". :)

Translating for the fellas... "He makes enough money that I will put up with him."

The Velo is a nice sounding all rounder with great features, but for about the same price the SVS (PB10) is a step up in capability. Pretty much anything will exceed the HTIB sub. I'm sure you'll get other recommendations, but you'd really be happy with either of the two you mention.
These are nice also and you can get two for $549.
