Hi i am going to be purchasing athena f-2's today at best buy for 179 plus i have a 12% off coupon. They close in 3 hours so i need opinions. i have a harmon kardon avr 320 w/ a set of JBL nsp 24 all around with a jbl center channel that came in a 5 speaker set. Believe they were the NSP-II sets and i do have a 12" Sony sub. Anyways the F-2 after reading many good reviews, will they go with my JBL center or should i purchase the Athena centers today too? i was reading something about timbres matching? Dunno what that means. Thx any help is appreciated.

The Athenas are awesome speakers not to mention the pricie on them. Timbre matching is most important across the front 3 speakers. Timbre matching is basically the tonal balance of the speaker. Basically if the center speaker doesn't match the right and left, and a guy is walking across the screen talking, as he moves from speaker to speaker the tone (timbre) of his voice will change from speaker to speaker. If you can afford it i would go with the center while you are at it. I hooked up a set of these speakers including sub and rears(all athenas)and they sound great. If you click the gallery tab at the top of this post you'll see them there(pics)of his front L&R and center speaker. Good luck!
