I have a HTPC I built sometime back and never got around to getting the TV tuning part up and running.

So, now I am trying to do that. I have an old ATI analog tuner in it and a Avermedia A180. I didn't bother running an antenna to the ATI. It is just there to satisfy the MCE 2005 requirement of needing an analog tuner.

When I do setup in Media Center, it shows strong signal for my local HD stations on my new card. However, when I attempt to view them using live TV in the media center menu, I get black/white static on all the channels - no images just static.

Any ideas?

You need to confiure the old analog tuner in MC first.

However, AFAIK the 180 card is a true combo card and so the 2 tuners appeart to the OS as separate tuners so you can configure the analog tuner in the 180 and then the digital.
