One man's trash is another man's treasure.... To each his own.... Different strokes for different folks....
Pick your poison. No one can TELL you if
this axiom set up will sound good to YOUR ears, on YOUR gear, in YOUR room.
Go out and start LISTENING to speakers in your price range. AT ~ $1800 - $2000 CAD, there are SEVERAL brands that you might find extremely enjoyable.
AND.... just as many that you WON'T like.
Once you find something you really enjoy, buy a pair of the front speakers and order a pair of the Axiom's if you still think you want to try them. Try them side by side in your own listening enviroment for a period of time. Return the ones you don't like and then finish out your system.
What do you think is going to happen if three or four people jump in this thread, tell you that, that particular Axiom system rocks. You spend $1800 CAD, un box everything, set it all up.... and to you, in your room.... the speakers sound like dog doo or they totally underwhelm you. Then a week later you happen by Joe's Stereo Heaven and listen to some PSB's for less money that totally blow you away?
Do yourself a favor and start LISTENING to some different speakers and start getting an idea of the sound you prefer. Do it right the first time.... and you won't waste money having to do it all over again.
