Hi all,

I just purchased an X1, and when I turn the power off using the remote, the light powers down but the fan keeps going. BUT, i hear this buzzing noise which is not there when the light is on. This is seperate from the fan noise. Anyone experience this as well? I called the sales staff but they told me this is normal. Since I don't know anyone else that has the X1, I would like to enlist your help!

They've given me till Wednesday to exchange if necessary so any replies would be appreciated.

Today, I noticed something similar but while the projector was running. It's a ceiling mounted X1, and the usual hum from the fan became punctuated with a whirr type noise (sounds kind of like an airplane). This is scaring me. Any ideas? I heard somewhere that the colour wheel can make this sound occasionally. Is this because it is ceiling mounted? I never had this problem when I had it shelf mounted. PLease help!

I too can hear the whir when the colour wheel kicks in above the fan noise. I think it is normal but I also read where one owner returned theirs and infocus gave them a different one that solved the problem. So I don't know how much whir is normal.
