Strange problem: on my Dish 5000 receiver, when I tune to one of the HD channels (whether entering it directly or using the guide), I can no longer directly enter a channel number to get back to another channel (HD or otherwise). I can use channel up/down -- but can't enter a 3 or 4 digit channel no. to directly access another channel. If I use the guide to go to a non-HD channel, I can then directly enter a channel -- whether 3 or 4 digit, std or HD.

It seems to be related to the message that the 5000 displays on the std. definition screen: "Attention: To watch this DTV program, switch the TV to its DTV tuner input per the TV owner's manual." It's like this banner is blocking the input of the digits or something (but again, channel up/down works fine).

Help! This is screwing up my ability to program direct-access favorite channels into my learning remote.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Do you know how to fix it?

Thanks.

Good call, Abdul! But, actually

Menu-1-9430-Select

or

Guide-9430-Select

You may need to add a second Select command. (I'm not sure whether this is only necessary for 3 digit channels.)
