Help -

I was using ffdshow, zoomplayer, etc per all the faqs. After I got it to work, which lasted for about three days, I now get a completly washed out image with all my file players. even dvds through zoom player. only nvdvd works right now. I tryed to uninstall zoom player, ffdshow, the codec pack, media player - nothing works. please help.

back up a second to the part about the codec pack...

What codec pack did you install? It is probably your problem. Have fun with that. A lot of the time, the solution to a bad codec pack is nothing short of a reinstall of the OS, from what I have read (never installed any packs myself).

fwiw, how is the playback quality with VLC? (It isn't directshow based)

I believe the ZP faq advises against codec packs.

The latest and proven codecs are from Nvidia, Dscaler5 and Elecard.

I have all 3 and Nero codecs too. All three give excellent PQ......

As far as a washed out picture, check your video card overlay color settings.

Don't know what codec pack, but yes, I believe that Blight would never encourage the use of a codec pack. Although from the sounds of it, you may be miss using the term "codec pack".

VLC - Video Lan Client (If VLC can't play it, it can't be played)
