Help - Dimmer IR clash with Projector

639 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  P_G
I am in the process of setting up my home theater. I have installed the Hitachi projector HDPJ52 and also the Maestro IR for the recessed lights. The problem is that when the projector is off and I hit the "Favorite Scene" button on the Maestro remote, it will also switch on the projector. Looks like this is the same code as the discrete on for the projector, since it has no effects once the projector is on.

I have a MX-700 which I will program, but I want to know if there is anyway I can change/modify either of the IR codes to resolve this problem?

Thanks

The projector shouldn't use the same codes. See if there is anything in the manual or user menus about IR control. Perhaps the projector is set to turn on when it get's a "scene" command. Just throwing ideas out there.
I have not programmed the MX-700 yet. I have just completed installing the projector and the dimmer in the room. I played around with the dimmer remote yesterday and found that it does not turn on the projector all the time. It is happening once a while. Also, the projector comes on when I hit the off button on the dimmer remote and not recalling the preset setting.

I looked into the projector manual and found nothing about the IR control. Maybe if I program the MX-700, it may fix this problem. Right now I like the setup with the lights on the dimmer but causing the projector to come on sometimes is kind of frustrating.
