I'm having a heck of a time with audio problems and dscaler.

I'd prefer to use AC3 filter for my audio via spdif, but everytime i choose it in zoom player, the video starts and then locks up right away with no audio.

i have to manually close down zoom player.

ac3 filter is configured correctly and works with wmv and avi's and stuff.

i've tried the dscaler audio codec, but it doesn't always work, i often have to go into the audio menu and reslelect the track to get it to play, then i have to restart the movie, it's a bummer.

i searched the massive dscaler thread for ac3 filter, but no luck

please help!

I am using DScalar5 video codec with AC3 audio. I too was having many problems with the DScalar audio codec. Check the filter manager in ZP to make sure you are really using the codec you want. I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling the AC3 filrer to get it working.

I have the same problem using rc5 and dscaler5. ZP locks up at the DVD menu with no audio. I had to switch to the dscaler audio codec to get it to work. Luckily, that works fine on my setup.

Dropping back to the old version of ac3filter didn't help, which is weird. I had sworn I had it working with dscaler5 at one point.

I ran into problems configuring AC3filter with Zoomplayer and the latest via drivers for the AV-710. Here's what i did so far which seems to be working ok. Correct me if I don't understand the driver settings, but I thought you should check the S/pdif passthrough option to disable internal processing, but when I do this it immediately locks up both the Ac3filter properties dialog and Zoomplayer and I have to end task.

Uninstall Ac3 filter and reinstall it to get the default settings.

Add ac3 filter as your audio processor and verify filters

Start a dvd and right click and get into the the filter properties for AC3 filter while the movie is playing.

If I check s/pdif passthrough it locks up hard.

If you just select dolby prologic II you get the surround just fine via s/pdif at least in my case.

Anyone else have a better solution or setting recommendation?

AC3Filter 1.01 RC5 will NOT work in SPDIF passthough mode in Zoomplayer for DVD's. The dscaler video part is irrelevant, it doesn't matter which video decoder you use.

0.70b won't passthrough DTS from memory.

I suggest Windvd audio for SPDIF passthrough. For passthrough AC3filter is not really required anyway.
