I just bought a Mits 55413 which I love. Right now I have Comcast HD hooked up through the new Motorola 6200 and very good component cables. Comcast has just informed me that they have enabled the DVI output on the 6200. Will I see a huge difference if I plunk down big bucks for a DVI cable? My expensive componet cables I just bought then become useless.

i would just stick with your component cables. There is a subtle difference with DVI, but nothing mind blowing

I did not notice a big difference in PQ using the DVI. But, I do use it now, I already had the DVI-D cable.


BTW, DO NOT spend $100-$200 for a Monster DVI cable. Get one at a computer store or similar outlet. Should be around $16-$20 for a six foot cable. Its a digital cable, all of the fancy gold plating and shielding do not make a difference like they might on an analog cable.


A $19 plain black DVI cable will transmit the ones and zeros just as well as the $150 cable they try to sell you at HiFi Buys or Circuit City.
