my budget is $100-150. and i want 2.1 or 5.1 which isnt hard to find except that i want a set that has digital in/out inputs for the LCD on the woofer. i dont want RCA conncetions unless its a last resort and i dont want a package that has a dvd,blueray, or reciever/amp. I just want a set of speakers with a woofer that has digital connections for around $100-150.


Ive done alot of searching and all i can find is Bose for around $500 which i cant afford. there has to be a cheaper pair out there. im not looking for top of the line just something alittle better in sound then the speakers on the tv.


can someone please help me with my search? and post the links or link i would really appreciate it

If you can budget about 200 the logitech z5500 isn't awful. The center is lacking but its by no means bad. Ive been using a set for about 2 years now and while im planning an upgrade its definitely been a good dorm room solution. The "receiver" has toslink and coax digital inputs along with the standard analog inputs.

You want to cheaply up grade your sound. The easiest and cheapest is any name brand computer speakers with power sub woofer. You will have to use the RCA jacks with adapters as I doubt you have a head phone jack. That will give you cheap 2.1 (not really) sound, and some computer speakers are not bad at medium to low volume. For $100 it is an easy fix if your sound tastes are not "too" critical.

For a $100 I can't think of anything else.
