I’m about to install a 120 inch UST lenticular ALR screen but I want to “future proof” the installation as much as possible. What won’t change any time time soon...the screen will be the same (120 inch UST ALR screen) and use of an UST projector. What may change over time is the actual projector model and cabinet/console table below. Changing out either of these (projector or console) will impact he screen height in order to achieve the perfect screen so I’d like to implement some sort of flexible mounting solution for the screen so that I can easily, and fluidly, vary the height of the screen on the wall over time.

Are there already some sort of horizontal mounted (across studs) solutions, hex bolt tweakable (like on some tv mounts for fine leveling adjustments), pulley systems, DIY solutions, or anything else that would let me take the entire fixed screen and move it up or down by 1-2 feet as needed over time.

I understand the protectors themselves have adjustments but I’d like the flexibility to be able to vary the fixed screen height on wall as well.

Thank you for any guidance or pointing me in the right direction!

the first thing that comes to my mind is some kind of track shelving product that would allow you to move up/down

i'm not sure if there's a product that would allow a low profile 'hook' part to put on the back of your screen, or how you would mount it to your screen though.

personally, i think i would just re-mount the screen as needed. how many different upgrades are you planning? If this needs to be done once a ywar, i don't see the big deal.

i do wonder if you could modify a tv wall mount though. I'm thinking if there's a wall mount designed for an 85" tv, that must be able to handle the weight of a 120" projection screen. again, it would come down to haw you mount the screen to the vesa mount though.

sorry, i guess that wasn't much help. every screen i've mounted has been with a french cleat set up. just seems so easy, i've never looked into alternatives
